It’s that time of year again when we start looking at buying Christmas presents for our nearest and dearest. With a recession on many people are starting their shopping early which is a great idea and reduces the stress commonly related to the Christmas season. But finding unusual gifts can be tricky. If you go to all the popular high street shops you will find the usual sort of gifts we buy each year, soap gift sets, perfume gift sets and so on. But I always struggle to find something that you know when opened on Christmas day will make that person smile and really be appreciative of the gift. But how can you find that special gift?
Buying Christmas presents can be stressful especially if you leave it to the last minute. All the shops will be bursting with people and the queues to the tills will go on forever. Christmas shouldn’t be like this. It’s a time to relax and enjoy time wit your family. But most of us find the whole festive season too much and can’t wait for it to be over.
With a bit of preparation your Christmas holidays could turn out to be a wonderful stress free time which you and your family will enjoy. So how do you find gifts without heading to the packed out shopping centres? Well thanks to the online shopping you can view many different types of boutiques in the comfort of your own home and compare prices. If you find something you like the look of, you can put the item name in Google and find every other occurrence of that item for you to compare price, shipping etc.
Also the beauty of online stores is that you can search for a particular niche. For instance if the person you are buying for is really into golf, you can search for ‘golf gifts’ or ‘golf shops’ to find store dedicated to that subject. Maybe you know the person you are buying for loves all things French, in which case type ‘French Gifts’ into Google and it will list only stores offering French Gifts.
Many people are looking for alternative gifts where you buy them a unique experience like Driving a F1 car, sky diving, hot ballooning or a day out at a spar. Days out gifts are becoming more popular for those people that have everything but love to experience new activities.
One present I got last year which I liked was 6 weeks of lottery tickets. I didn’t win anything big but 3 numbers came in which one me a tenner, the fun was every Wednesday and Saturday watching the lottery and praying my numbers came up
So shopping this Christmas needn’t be a headache. Pour a class of wine, sit, surf and search. The internet is a very powerful tool right at your fingertips, so why not use it and abuse it. Remember to choose the right keywords, as what words you search for will determine what sites come up. Don’t put ‘online shopping’ in as nearly 300 million results will come up and they will mainly be all the high street shops.
Forget getting stressed as you battle your way around the shops, give the shops a wide birth this Christmas and shop online. If you do all your shopping now, you can spend December pampering yourself buying party clothes and accessories and really getting into the spirit of Christmas.
Boutique Provencale is a lovely online store offering French Gifts, French Pottery, French Table Linen and much more.

He woke up suddenly and completely. It was five o’clock. Christmas day finally came and he had planned for a long time for the day. His childhood and youth were long past, and his own children had grown up and gone.
Yesterday he said to his wife, “Let’s have a special Christmas of our own.”
Then she said, “It’s all right, but do not trim the tree until tomorrow, Michael. I’m tired.” She had tired herself out yesterday with cleaning the house.
He had agreed, and the tree was still out of the door. This was the reason for he woke up so early.
He remembered those Christmas when he was a child. He lived on his father’s farm at that time. It was really happy at that time. They all sat around the table, talking and laughing. Mum would also do something tasteful for them. He helped his mother with that. His sister sewed presents, and his parents always prepared for him anything he needed, may be a book or a pair of UGG boots. And then in the early morning on Christmas day, they would get their Christmas gifts. It was clear to him that they loved each other in the family.

How lucky that he had been able to love and be loved! Ah, that was the true joy of life, the ability to love and the feelings of being loved! Some people may be unable to love anyone in their lifetime, but love was around him.
The stars gradually faded outside the window. He got out of bed and put on his slippers, bathrobe and went downstairs softly. He brought in the tree, and carefully trimmed it. Then he went to his study and brought the little box that contained his special gift to his wife, a diamond Tiffany necklace, not large, but beautiful in design. He wanted to tell her how much he loved her. He sealed it with a card and tied it on the tree.
When this was finished, he put out the light and went tiptoeing up the stairs. Outside the window, the first ray of the sun was gleaming in the east, what a lovely and blessed Christmas!

Long long ago, there was an ancient legend. It said that you can realize a wish if you get a pair of UGG Boots on Christmas Eve.
Tom was a little boy. He liked stories told by his old grandpa very much, especially the stories about UGG Boots. He was always dreaming to have a pair of UGG Boots on Christmas Eve. He had a lot of toys want to buy, but his parents don’t allow.
There was only a month before Christmas Day, and Little Tom dreamed to have a pair of ski. He had begged his parents for many times, but they didn’t agree. Tom was so sad. “It must be cool when I go skiing at Christmas”, he thought. So a pair of perfect ski was very important. But his parents won’t buy it for him. He had some pocket money, but that was still far from enough. Oh, poor little boy! Who can help him? Suddenly, UGG Boots came into his mind. If he had a pair of UGG Boots, he didn’t need to worry any more. But how he could get a pair of UGG Boots was also a big problem.

In the following days, Tom’s parents were surprised that he didn’t go anywhere after class. Tom just stayed at room and thought how to get a pair of UGG Boots. At night, he asked his grandpa how to get UGG Boots. Grandpa said, “Oh, my boy, it’s just a legend. I haven’t heard someone have got UGG Boots.” “Just a legend?” Tom can’t believe that. If it was not true, how could he get a pair of ski?
Christmas Day was coming. But Tom still had not found a good way to get the ski. He felt sad. His parents asked him why he was not happy. He didn’t say anything. And his parents were worried about him, for they didn’t know what happened to Tom. “Maybe I can’t get the ski this Christmas”, Tom thought.
On Christmas Eve, Tom’s mother prepares a lot of delicious food, but Tom was still not happy. As he entered his room after dinner, he found a box on his bed. He opened it, and found it’s a pair of boots labeled “UGG”. Tom felt so excited! He finally got UGG Boots! “And I will have the ski tomorrow soon”, he thought.
The next morning, he gets up earlier than usual. Without seeing the ski in his room, Tom started wondering Why He had had UGG Boots, the ski he wanted still not show up. He goes out slowly. Suddenly, he found a pair of new ski outside. It’s exactly the ski he wanted! It’s not a legend! It’s a true! He went out with the new ski happily.
UGG boots have won the affection of the public for a long time for their extraordinary warmth and comfort. UGG mall provides a great variety of UGG boots with latest designs and superior quality at discount price that everyone can afford. surely, UGG boots will be your choice as Christmas gifts for families and friends.

The thought of Christmas brings a smile to our faces. After all, who does not wish to be presented with beautiful Christmas cards and invitations that bright up the festivities to a great extent!
But then, do you have any idea how it all started? How and when did people start the custom of sending cards on Christmas Day? The following paragraphs – evidenced from history, numerical facts and anecdotes – provide an insight into some interesting facts about these Christmas cards.
Ancient China was probably one of the first countries to have started the custom of sending messages of goodwill to near and dear ones. As per recorded evidence, Germans were producing cards as early as the 15th century. However, the origin of Christmas cards is attributed to the young boys of England. Centuries ago, they used to make cards for their parents on Christmas Day.
In the year 1843, Sir Henry Cole commissioned the first commercial Christmas cards in London. A simple, “A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You” was found on the inside of each card, thereby indicating the onset of Christmas greetings in a new, innovative fashion at that time.
In the USA, the first commercial Christmas cards were produced by Louis Prang. In fact, he is regarded as the creator of the greeting card industry in the United States. As these cards grew in popularity, they became the preferred means of sending Christmas invitations to friends and family.
The White House, under the presidency of Eisenhower, issued its first official Christmas card in the year 1953. In the year 2005, the White House sent more than 1.4 million official Christmas wishes through greeting cards.
Christmas cards and invitations are by far the most popular cards of a season; they account for 60% of all card sales. As the city nights unfold from warm evenings to the holiday breeze, the world slowly prepares for Christmas as early as November. The manifestations of Christmas begin with the insertion of random Christmas carols in commercial establishments or a delivery of Christmas trees that decorates the front entrance of malls. Other than the carols and trees, it is the lights from the many houses that slowly populate the cityscape and captivate the evening.
It is tradition that families come and decorate their homes with trimmings and flowers. But these are no ordinary flora – it is a special Christmas flower, the Poinsettia (Euphorbia Pulcherrima), as it is best known around the world, that echoes to the household that Christmas is just around the corner. Though stereotyped as another tradition, the Poinsettia has its roots in Mexican legend. Based on its roots, it was brought over to the West by a Mexican Ambassador Joel Roberts Poinsett. But from tradition, the Poinsettia was said to be a bloom most beautiful coming directly from the heavenly skies.
The traditional tale is passed down in history with a poor farm girl wanting to offer the very best gift to the Savior during Christmas day. Her plea was heard by the angels above and they instructed her to gather weeds and align the Church walkway with these. According to legend, after the little girl delivered this task the angels miraculously converted the weeds into a crimson red bloom. And thus was born the Poinsettia, a Christmas flower.
Regardless of what it is called around the world, the Poinsettia – known also as the Noche Buena, the Winter Rose, the Christmas Star, the Flame Leaf, the Stelle di Natalle finds itself inside the homes of families around the world as a symbol of Jesus Christ’s love for believers in the Christian Faith. The Christmas Flower is usually hung outside homes on the front doors to greet passersby or made to hang on the Christmas tree indoors to bring it to full bloom.
Regardless of its many symbolisms, the Poinsettia points to the nativity of Jesus Christ, symbolic of the brightest star that led the wise men and shepherds to that little manger in Bethlehem. The Poinsettia is beautiful. It is a most wonderful centerpiece that decorates the dinner table when family and friends gather to celebrate the season of love. And isn’t that what Christmas is all about?
