A Big Surprise
Each time I make a progress in my study my mother will give me a gift. She hopes that the gift will encourage me. To get the gift, I work very hard.
My mother knows that I like necklace very much so many times my mother would buy necklaces for me. But I thought I have had too many necklaces so I asked my mother to give me some new and surprising gift. That was in my middle school. I got A in the final exam. I was so happy that I wanted to get back home immediately. I hoped my mother would go to buy the gift for me as soon as she saw my excellent score. When mother saw the score, she smiled. I could see that she was very proud of her daughter. She said: “my sweetheart, this time I will give you a big surprise.” The next day was the longest day in my life. I was so eager to see the big surprise my mother had said that I headed to home after school. 
When I got home, I asked my mother to take out the big surprise. My mother went into her room and took out a box. “oh, the surprise is really big. What’s that in it, Mum?” I was curious about the thing in that big box. Mother passed the box to me and asked me to guess. I was too impatient to make out what was that in the box so I hardly had opened the box when I touched the box. To my disappointment, I saw a pair of ugly boots in it. It was a pair of UGG boots. It seemed so heavy that I thought I couldn’t lift off my feet if I put on the boots. But the boots had fine workmanship. Mother seemed to see my dissatisfaction with this present then she said: “don’t you like it, my honey?” “it was a little strange. I have never seen such kind of boots.” I said. Finally the UGG boots were put in my wardrobe for nearly a year. I didn’t wear the boots. The next winter was extremely cold. I even didn’t want to go to school in those cold days. My shoes couldn’t keep my feet warm. Mother suggested me that: “my dear, why not try that pair of UGG boots?” I nearly had forgotten the boots. I put on the boots. It was so comfortable and warm. That winter the boots were always accompanying me. It protected my feet and let me spend a warm winter. What’s more, the UGG boots seemed not ugly any more, it was beautiful and it was of a fashion style. Then I knew a truth that don’t give up before you make an attempt.
